Thriving in the Valley

…Just some encouragement for those facing difficulties…
‘The most fertile soil is in the valley, not on the mountain tops’
How well I know and understand this concept, yet how often I forget. In the challenging times of life, it is hard to see if anything good will come of it all. Even for a good length of time after, you still may not understand, but… you’ve somehow grown. Perhaps you’ve grown to rely more on God, perhaps you’ve grown in recognizing pain in order to comfort others, or perhaps it has been a growth in your character, in perseverance.
As James 1:2-4 says,
‘Consider it pure joy, my brothers, when you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Let perseverance finish it’s work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
‘Nothing will happen to you that God and you can’t handle.’
As a Side Note / Current Event at Capernwray
This time next week, our Bible students are heading cross country for their 10-day outreaches. Pray for them, not just that God will see them through the 10-days, but also for the things they put aside to focus on the task at hand (ie: the problems at home, the financial and future worries, or the soon end of Winter Bible School with all it’s goodbyes). All of these things lie on the hearts of our students, but often get overlooked or pushed aside, yet it affects, and is just as important to, each individual as they go out from here.
