What our guests are saying about Ladies’ Weekend:

It is a pure delight to be here, surrounded by God’s presence and with beauty all around.

This holiday has given me a time to nourish my Christian faith and to remind me of the excitement of having a relationship with God.

Great food, great fun, good conversations and plenty of food for thought.

Teacher and Topic Details:

We are so excited to be already thinking towards Ladies Conference 2018 and look forward to seeing many of you back again and to meeting new friends this coming spring. The theme for our Ladies weekends this year will be ‘Hope is Rising’. Kim Lee and Laurie Thomas will be sharing the teaching. Using the ancient definition of prayer that describes it as “keeping company with God”, Kim will be opening God’s Word and looking at how a praying life is one that is shaped by hope, as we journey with God throughout all the seasons of our lives. Laurie will be looking at the life of Elijah and how when our faith is challenged through difficult circumstances we are able to soar as we allow the hope we have in the Lord rise up from the ashes.

Kim began working at Capernwray in 2000.  During Bible School she is the Student Studies Coordinator, overseeing all the assignment work that the students do.  She also lectures on the topics of Prayer, The Father Heart of God and World Religions. During the Holiday Programme she is a part of the Guest team.  Kim enjoys reading, pottering in the garden, and going to teashops.

Laurie came to Capernwray as a student from Canada over 25 years ago and has never really left. While involved in the ministry through the years she has worn many hats, including working in the office, helping in housekeeping and now running the bookshop. Recently the Lord has brought her joy through unearthing a deep desire to write and through writing, encouraging others to keep their eyes on Him. After living for so long in England one of her favourite past-times has become having a cuppa with friends.
